#SSBeClassy #OOTD : Playing with Color

I was SO enjoying my 2-week vacation, but now it's time to embrace the new year, return to work, and focus on fulfilling my list of new year's goals.  With returning to work, comes returning to wearing clothes that are meant to be worn outside of the house again.

For today's work ensemble, I put together a simple look of cropped cigarette pants, a fitted black blazer, and our Paisley Print top.  I finished the look with nude flats, muted makeup and our Circle Drop earrings.

I seem to really be enjoying the nude trend lately, with traditional nude tones as well as the new nude - grey.  While nude, like black, goes with anything, adding a pop of color can really elevate a look and take it into another direction.

3 Subtle Ways to Play with Color

Add a colorful lip.

One of the easiest ways to add color to your look is through makeup.  The most complementary colors to all skin tones are pretty reds and pinks, but bold purples and rich wines are beautiful too when worn correctly.

Don a colorful accessory.

With a monochromatic or neutral-colored outfit, add intrigue and excitement with a boldly colored statement necklace or earrings.

Carry a colorful bag.

Similar to accessories, adding a colorful clutch to a simple look ups the ante and adds additional drama to an otherwise subdued look.  Take it a step further by choosing a bag with fun textures like fur or embellishments, as well as color, like our Burrr Faux Fur Clutch.

Leave a comment with ways you like to transform a neutral look.

Until next Tuesday loves!
